Each time, there are 4 animal cards: 2 facing left, 2 facing right. Place all the cards face down on the table. Each player takes turns flipping over 2 cards of their choice. If they flip over 2 cards that are perfectly identical (e.g. both monkeys facing left), they win the pair and get to play again. If not, they cover them back up. The player who collects the most pairs wins the game. For younger players, it is possible to simplify the game by disregarding the direction the animals are facing.
